Breakfast 5 results

Breakfast! Your first meal of the day! When you’re watching your weight, it’s so important to start your day off with a good meal. It doesn’t have to be a lot but something loaded with protein and a few carbs is a good idea. Why is it important? Eating early kick starts your metabolism for the day. It also improves memory and concentration. Studies have shown that eating breakfast lowers levels of “bad” LDL cholesterol, and also lowers chances of getting diabetes, heart disease, and being overweight. Breakfast also keeps our body clock running on time. Don’t skip it!

It doesn’t always have to be eggs and bacon or cereal. Just a small meal that energizes you for the day. I often eat leftovers in the morning. There’s no set rule about what you need to eat, just make it healthy.

Check out my recipes in this category for a great breakfast! My On the Go Chipotle Egg Cups are a great choice. You can make them ahead of time and put them in the freezer. You always have a quick breakfast on the go!

Homemade Spicy Chicken Sausage

Updated October 17, 2019; originally published on October 26, 2017 This healthy Homemade Spicy Chicken Sausage is a big hit at my house. My kids will even fry it up on their own because they love it so much. It's great over nachos, delicata squash, rice, and zucchini noodles. It also makes a fast appetizer in my Lasagna Appetizers. This recipe is pretty spicy, so if you don't like spice, then dial it down a bit by using less of the spicy seasonings. Cheaper than buying it in the ...

I even take them in a cooler frozen when traveling. Previously published on March 13, 2018, updated with new pictures and information. Quick easy breakfast in 1 1/2 min! Low in ...

Cranberry Orange Scones

About this recipe These cranberry orange scones are definitely not your average English tea scone.  They are made with fresh cranberries and are light, fluffy, moist and delicious-more like biscuits. I do believe they are best the first day. Of course you can eat them the next day and even freeze them, (we'll talk about that later) but in my opinion, they are best right out of the oven! I modified my original recipe slightly to make them a bit more healthier. Decreasing the ...

Slider Buns

Looking for a 2 pt slider bun? I often buy Franz Slider Buns and they are 2 points each, however sometimes I have trouble finding them. These actually taste much better! But who doesn't love fresh baked bread? If you have a bread maker, these are super easy, but even if you don't, I've included directions in the note section on how to do it by hand.  For the bread machine I use the "quick dough" cycle and take the dough out when it's done mixing. This recipe makes about 54 slider buns, don't ...
