I love dessert but I’m not about fat free, sugar free yuck. I think it’s better to have a little of heaven and something fabulous than a lot of yuck. Therefore on my website, you won’t see too many “healthy” desserts. I’ll post great dessert recipes often in mini sizes or small portions with the ww points and calorie info so you can still track it and fit it into your week. My gourmet healthy website is about great taste as well as being healthy so often times moderation is the key when eating desserts.

Healthy Fruit Pizza

Healthy Fruit Pizza is a great summer dessert and makes a perfect 4th of July Fruit Pizza. Use any fruit you wish! You can sprinkle the fruit all around or do interesting designs by alternating various fruit patterns - blueberry, raspberry, etc. Be creative! When you alternate fruit pieces around the cookie crust, it looks very professional, even if you aren't an artist - which I'm not. I promise, yours will turn out just as beautifully! A delicious slice of heaven! A reader recipe ...

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

I love good chewy and crispy chocolate chip cookies so if this is how you like them, then this recipe is for you!  I've had this chocolate chip cookie recipe for over 26 years. It originally came from a fellow teacher when I taught for USD #501 (yes that famous one - Brown vs the Topeka Board of Education-Supreme Court Case,) in Topeka, Kansas - my first year of teaching. I have made a few changes over the years but essentially it's pretty much the same. The original version did have ...

Cinnamon Oodles – Oatmeal Snickerdoodles

These Cinnamon Oodles (Oatmeal Snickerdoodles) have to be one of my all-time favorite cookies. They are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.  If you love oatmeal cookies and snickerdoodles, you will really enjoy this scrumptious combination. Of course they have to go in the "Not so skinny, " category but it's the holidays so we all deserve a treat now and then. However if you make them with a small scoop (a little over an inch across), they are only 2 Freestyle Smart Points ...

Healthier Homemade Apple Dumplings

I love homemade apple dumplings! Recently I pulled out my mom's recipe from the Betty Crocker cookbook, (some of you know the exact cookbook I'm talking about - the red checkered one with the torn edges, pictures of women in 1950's with their aprons. And the new "modern" kitchen? It makes me chuckle every time I look at it). On a whim, I decided to put their apple dumpling recipe into WW Recipe Builder - 28 points or 802 calories per apple dumpling! Really? Are you kidding me? That's way too ...
